SMALL WINDOW DRESSING

My small window all dressed up.

This is my old day curtain, perhaps 4 or 5 years pld.

I fold up the lower part about 11"...

...then sew along the folded part, giving allowance of about an inch.

Take a piece of ribbon, secure to a safety pin and push through the sewn part.
Pull the ribbon to form gathers.

Take another look :)

DITUTUP!

Lagi satu yang penting ialah soal mahram. Tak kan lelaki pulak nak dandan rambut.

ISH ISH.....

MY TEMPLATE..ALL TATTERED

My very first 'ala ariani' template.

All patched and tattered.

I have used this template since December 2008 to make new templates for my students

and for those who bought kits. Of course I always explain this is basic

and the shape and length and can be changed as desired.

It has served me well..but then it has become too worn out and need

to be replaced.Probably have to say 'goodbye' soon..sadly :(

JALAN MASJID INDIA ON SUNDAY 5 JUNE 2011..hmmm

....so I did a little shopping at Jln Bunos off Jln Masjid India yesterday. My daughter tagged along, since the incident where I slipped and broke my wrist one of my children will accompany me on my shopping trips..I still cannot carry heavy loads with my left hand.

What I'm relating is not what I buy but what I see.....:)

What did I see... not a common scene but a very clean stretch of road...no cars double parked...no petty traders in front of the mosque...not a single piece of debris...and lots of DBKL and police personnels. Aha...a dignitary is paying visit so the big banners say.

Wished I brought my camera so I could snap a few pictures...and how I wish the scenario is a permanent one.

MY NEW PLEATED BAG

In bag making mood..........
I want to sew something different not the usual plain tote.
So I cut the remnant curtain material Rosni gave me into 8 strips
measuring 24" X 4".

Sew all the strips, fold and sew the right and left sides.

Each strip is pleated...except for the extreme left and right.

Two inner pockets....can you imagine bags without pockets....

Pleating gives the bag 'shape' and 'body'
Next move is to attach a bow
hmm...what color is suitable?
Any suggestion... :)

GO GREEN..GREEN IS GOOD

Not in material..fabric...thread...But FOOD!
your diet!

..and of course the red and yellow and the 'sambal belacan' :)

We have such an abundance of green that can be eaten RAW.

Eating raw is very good for the body, no minerals or vitamins will be lost

due to over cooking.

KEEP YOUNG AND HEALTHY

EAT GREEN

EAT RAW

:))

(pssst..our grandma and great grandma knew about this)

SLING BAG AND POUCHES

My fractured left hand is getting better Alhamdulillah..and the urge to sew something crafty comes back. Before the incident Rosni of Nykolett gave me a stack of beautiful curtain remnants. So I picked 3 pieces of the material and sewed the above..a sling bag with gathered outer pocket and 2 pouches for my daughters.

Thank you Rosni :)
